A sculptural expression of fluidity and presence. Cut from a massive block of Marfil stone, “The Pebble” is low, quiet, and assured. Its surface gently rounded,- tactile yet monumental, like a water-smoothed rock in a riverbed. Throughout the day it catches and softens the light, holding shadows in its curves and reflecting a muted glow.
The thick, generous top rests on three solid wood cylinders, a composition that feels at once prehistoric and modernist. The language here is pure material and mass: a horizontal plane drawn in stone.
It recalls the radical simplicity of 1970s Italian interiors, but stripped of ornament. Just shape, weight, and balance,- inviting books, glasses, and to be touched
