del Negro Studio is a Mediterranean design practice creating residential and hospitality projects across architecture, interiors, landscape and objects.
Partners Tille and Oro del Negro bring together more than two decades of experience shaping some of the region’s most recognised homes, hotels and hospitality destinations.
Together they were among the defining forces behind what later became recognised as the contemporary Mediterranean visual language;
an approach characterised by material continuity, softened architectural forms, chromatic restraint and spaces
shaped around climate, tactility and daily life rather than decoration.
Today, del Negro Studio represents a more focused evolution of that work. A family practice bringing architecture, interiors, landscape and object design together under one roof, allowing every project to be considered in its entirety rather than as a collection of separate disciplines.
Yet the studio is less interested in style than in understanding what makes a place feel truly unique.
As contemporary Mediterranean design has became increasingly codified, the work moved beyond aesthetics and toward a deeper investigation into place, culture and material.
What allows a house to feel inseparable from its landscape? What makes you understand that it’s a home in a small Mallorquín village rather than Mykonos, Tulum or Ibiza? Why do certain spaces feel as though they could exist nowhere else? How do we, as creators, refrain from overdesigning?
The studio often returns to the «pa amb oli» (a typical sandwich from Mallorca) as a symbol of their philosophy.
Not because of its pure simplicity but because it feels complete when done right. A plump ramallet tomato, so sweet, in that peak of cigala summer, rubbed on fresh bread. Olive oil from the tree that is shading you.
A sprinkle of salt, the air heavy with heat and inspiring conversations.
Nothing about it is extravagant but it is perfection.
Pure, raw.
Its appeal lies in the relationship between things; the ingredients, the season, the place, the people gathered around it.
Each element strengthens the next until the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts.
For del Negro Studio, the most successful projects possess the same quality. Architecture, landscape, material, light, craft and daily life should reinforce one another until the result feels natural, coherent and deeply at ease with itself. The objective is never to impose identity onto a place, but to create an environment in which every decision contributes to the bigger picture.
Every project begins with close observation; topography, climate, vernacular intelligence, ritual, movement and the realities of how people actually live.
A home, in the studio’s thinking, has three lead characters; the landscape, the people who inhabit it and the architecture that brings them together.
At its core, del Negro Studio is a small and highly specialised team of architects, interiorists, product designers, makers and landscape designers.
Deliberately compact and collaborative, the practice combines diverse expertise through a shared commitment to design excellence, material intelligence and rigorous attention to detail.
This scale allows the studio to remain deeply involved in every stage of a project, maintaining a direct relationship between idea and execution.This philosophy extends to every scale of the work.
Much of what exists inside a del Negro Studio project is designed specifically for it; furniture, lighting, hardware, textiles, branding and objects developed in house and refined through making, testing and material exploration.
Beyond the studio exists a small army of carpenters, blacksmiths, ceramicists, upholsterers, stone masons, metalworkers, weavers and specialist artisans cultivated over decades.
They are not suppliers but collaborators; an extraordinary body of knowledge, skill and craftsmanship that allows ideas to move seamlessly from sketch to prototype to finished piece.
The practice operates between its design office in Deià and its Art and Craftsmanship studio in Sóller, where concepts are developed through drawing, making, prototyping and material research.
This close relationship between design and fabrication allows the studio to move fluidly between architecture and object making, ensuring that every detail contributes to the larger whole.

Oro del Negro’s foundation in fine art and architecture informs the studio’s spatial clarity, material intelligence and architectural rigour. Renowned for his ability to sketch and visualise space, he moves effortlessly between concept, proportion, circulation and materiality, translating intuition into form with remarkable precision.
Together, they bring complementary ways of seeing; one grounded in atmosphere, narrative and human experience, the other in structure, proportion and spatial flow. Alongside this sits decades of accumulated knowledge.
