The Libra Pendant

Latin, noun: {libra}- scales, balance.

A modernist reinvention of the classic Mediterranean patio plafonnier, once nicknamed the flycatcher. “The Libra” returns the bowl pendant to its original logic: a vessel for light. Suspended from three hand-twisted brass chains, its symmetry recalls an ancient balance, both literal and lunar.

The shade is carved from unpolished alabaster,- luminescent, milky, not quite white.

Its surface is veined with natural marbling, each cut of alabaster unique, luminescent, softly diffused. When lit, The Libra evokes magic hour: that liminal moment when the light turns gold.

A design study in suspension and restraint, “The Libra” holds light the way fabric holds wind- gently, without containing it
